Everest size geysers and potential for life.  Right on the heels of the announcement from Mars that there's evidence of microbial life, now our scientists are bandwagoning it, throwing their arms up and yelling "Fuck It!  If it's on Mars it's everywhere!"  Safe to say, I don't think the general public will fall into a panic, it's safe now, scientists. The one thing the article doesn't admit is that sci-fi writers have had this notion on lockdown for the last 50 years.  No crying over spilled milk but Arthur C. So the big news is that a comet will come near Earth in 2013 and put on a spectacular show for all to enjoy.  This is no doomsday prediction, or prophecy, this is the real deal, and with no threat to our planet.  It's something to look forward to and will be certain to send shock-waves of interest.
