CHILDREN OF THE SUN: WHEN THE ALIENS CAME TO SAVE US FROM OURSELVES

Image
In 1977, Billy Thorpe and producer Spencer Proffer went to see Close Encounters of the Third Kind and walked out with a perfectly reasonable question: What happens next? Spielberg's aliens had arrived. Contact had been made. Roll credits. Thorpe and Proffer went back to Proffer's house, picked up guitars, enjoyed what Proffer later described as some cognac and "pretty good smoke," and constructed their own sequel—not to the movie exactly, but to the idea. The result became “Children of the Sun,” a nearly seven-minute slab of cosmic FM rock eventually released in 1979. And these weren't the usual aliens coming to probe the livestock. Thorpe's extraterrestrials had been watching humanity self-destruct . Their proposition was essentially: People of Earth, we've reviewed your performance. Would anybody like a ride? The survivors leave a ruined Earth with a benevolent extraterrestrial civilization and get another shot somewhere else. Pro...

CRITICAL GORILLA #8— SET & SETTING ENTER THE MACHINE

Image
Creative rationale: The strongest fresh psychedelic story is wonderfully visual: research published August 19 suggests psilocybin doesn’t merely disrupt ordinary brain organization—it can make brain activity more responsive to context and environment. Critical Gorilla asks the obvious underground question: if surroundings become part of the neurological event, where exactly does the drug end and the world begin?

GREER’S 60-DAY UFO CLOCK JUST HIT ZERO

Image
Sixty days ago, Steven Greer effectively put Washington on notice. In a June 29 letter addressed to President Trump, the Pentagon, Congress and senior intelligence officials, Greer argued that alleged clandestine UFO/UAP programs operating outside lawful oversight had forfeited national-security protections. He said the Disclosure Project anticipated receiving “dispositive” evidence and intended to make such material public unless authorities provided a legal reason not to. LinkedIn +1 Well. The calendar has arrived. VERIFIED: Sixty days from June 29 landed on August 28. As of the morning of August 29, FMPU could find no newly released biological evidence, reverse-engineered vehicle documentation or other publicly testable “dispositive” material corresponding to that ultimatum. Greer’s latest visible social-media activity instead promotes his CE5 film and the new AI search function inside his Disclosure Project Intelligence Archive. LinkedIn Meanwhile, AARO has released...

WHITE SANDS: SOMETHING SHOWED UP. NOW SHOW US WHAT.

Image
The fastest-growing UAP story of the past 24 hours is the increasingly uncomfortable White Sands “baiting” allegation—because the story has now reached the point where a sitting congressman is publicly saying government agencies deliberately recreated conditions believed to attract UFO/UAP activity. Rep. Eric Burlison recently stated that agencies reviewed historical sightings, identified apparent triggers, reproduced those conditions at a location with previous activity, and that personnel from ODNI, CIA, FBI and military intelligence were present when, in his words, “something showed up.” Reddit Journalist Ross Coulthart has gone considerably further, claiming sources tell him the operation occurred around White Sands Missile Range and successfully recovered multiple objects. That claim is not independently verified, and no alleged recovered craft, laboratory analysis, official operational record or Pentagon confirmation has been made public. Reddit +1 That distinctio...

IF THEY SHOT DOWN A UFO AT WHITE SANDS, THE ARGUMENT SHOULD BE ALMOST OVER

Image
Something strange has happened to the latest UAP story. It has become testable. Ross Coulthart is reporting that sources describe a government operation at White Sands Missile Range designed to lure, identify and potentially bring down anomalous objects. Rep. Eric Burlison has separately discussed being briefed on an alleged UAP “luring and shoot-down” operation. The stronger claims—presidential authorization, successful recoveries and genuinely anomalous craft—remain publicly unconfirmed. Podcast Addict +1 That distinction is everything. Because White Sands possessing the means to knock things out of the sky is not controversial. The military openly tests high-energy lasers and high-power microwaves there against drones and other targets. Arnold Air Force Base +1 So we have three separate questions being mashed into one UFO smoothie: Did an intercept program exist? Did it bring anything down? And what exactly was brought down? FMPU refuses to skip from Question One to ...

FMPU Artist of the Week: Paul Laffoley — Blueprints for the Impossible

Image
I make images with AI that occasionally wander into Paul Laffoley territory: impossible diagrams, metaphysical machinery, cosmic schematics, information systems that seem to have arrived without their instruction manuals.  And I never knew who Laffoley was and what he means to today's artistic landscapes. Then I look at an actual Laffoley. And there is the difference. Paul Laffoley wasn't asking a machine to imagine complexity. He spent decades constructing his own visual language for it. The symmetry, lettering, architecture, geometry and almost pathological accumulation of information were components of a private system that he developed canvas by canvas. The man put in the miles. Born in Cambridge, Massachusetts, in 1935, Laffoley studied classics and art history at Brown University before studying architecture at Harvard's Graduate School of Design. Architecture wasn't incidental to what followed. According to his estate, he believed architectural training could sha...
