Direct from 1974 and the kindness of Brent Turner, we present the Christmas episode of the Top 40/Sci-Fi radio show The OIDAR Wavelength! The premise? The OIDAR Wavelength is a musical program from the future, playing oldies from the 20th Century, and somehow, we back in the seventies were/are able to hear the program due to some space/time continuum. In between the (sometimes good, sometimes horribly wretched) musical fodder, a mysterious announcer known only as "Programmer #9" relates twisted news and human interest stories from the future, the programs' present. And this is the Christmas episode! It seems that Mr. Turner was at a local swap meet and came across a whole box of OIDAR Wavelength reel to reel tapes! I live in SoCal and no I didn't see the "UFO" sighting this weekend but I have friends who did. They told me "no way that was a UFO."

A few folks seem to want us to know it's a pizza oven.  The object was found in the middle of a Kingston street, but the real answer as to what was sitting there burning is not officially known!  After establishing what it was the mystery continued and police do want to know how on Earth a pizza oven ended up on fire in the middle of the road on Saturday. I'm not a former famous baseball player, and I'm not anyone that has anything to gain by taking a stand one way or another in cases such as the James Holmes case.  But I do work in the mental health field.  I'm a professional with a masters degree, and for the most part I live a normal life, with normal interests and a busted up knee.  I'm not particularly mad at our government, and while I hate a being around a heavy police presence, I benefit from the services of our police.  I pay my taxes, I'm paying back my student loan granted to me by my government.  I hate the nightly news because to me it's a well-designed infomercial.  In fact, I have no business writing about the case outside of how it affects my life. The James Holmes shooting up of a movie theater in Aurora is one crazy story that does impact mental health and thus impacts the way I will be doing business at some point.  But what if this story was assembled by our government as so many...

A long time ago, back when I decided that I'd become a blogger... The time came when it was just simpler to put down a pad and pen and build an online home or two (or 50) where all the topics I am most interested in can be discussed and pondered.  Some could remain in confidence, others could reach out to those who like similar topics.  So one day I thought of Property Of Mars where I could talk about stories that are in most cases unexplained, or weird, or appealing to my senses. I hope everything posted here is just the warmup - it seems like I have more in the tank and I want to sell t-shirts.  And since blogging is said to be dead, I cannot help but want to share the way lots of my current writer-heroes continue on with it...  How to present is a continuing difficulty - and twitter complicates matters... Here's the difficulty  - I don't want to submit stories you can read on 50 other bigger sites.  I want to bring up tidbits you may not discuss...
