Weird timing that a meteorite should strike down on the same day the world will narrowly avert collision with another meteorite.  The crazy part is the unresolved rumor that the meteorite was actually shot down by the Russians!   Unverified, but if true, would be quite a story. Apparently the people were shocked by the strike, while authorities claim to have provided a warning of some type. UPDATE(s): It appears there's been three craters discovered. So the big news is that a comet will come near Earth in 2013 and put on a spectacular show for all to enjoy.  This is no doomsday prediction, or prophecy, this is the real deal, and with no threat to our planet.  It's something to look forward to and will be certain to send shock-waves of interest.
