                    When I set out to create a blog that would capture minds as curious as mine, I made a promise to stay as true to be  my beliefs as possible (I don't have many to begin with), be it cynical, naive or what's in my nature to remain motivated to strive to learn a thing or two.  We can drop the spectacle for a moment and look at what actually happened without feeling bad.  I have made the mistake of coming on too strong at times, drawing some ire from my peers.  Somehow, my "heroes" of  the journalistic world of the strange did/do it so much more diplomatically.  I'd like to think that the hard work pays off, and some of the talents in the field are ace researchers. In a startling piece of scientific revelation, the Antikythera Mechanism has been "determined" to be as old as 50 B.C. Previous estimates presumed this proud piece of scientific engineering to be at least 50 years older than this revised estimate. The mechanism was used as an astrological tool to help the scientists of the day calculate and estimate astronomical events and the Olympic Games schedule, according to THIS article.    I had not heard of this piece of old-school (re-found by searchers in 1901) technology prior to this article but its sure nice to know there's always more to learn about. 

UPDATE RE: THIS POST Most importantly I want to state this is this blogs MOST VIEWED post, for some reason, probably because of the strangeness that was Allison Michelle Ernst (ernest).  I have reached a conclusion that this was one of MANY hoax acts committed on the public for reasons I will not get in to now because I'm not interested in the politics of this case anymore.  It's all a shit-show, fake as could be and the entire James Holmes case was merely a act working against your civil rights.  I concluded after the many hours of videos, and various other reports I've seen that this case was a put-on.  Allison was nothing more than another actor who simply just made this weird case more weird.  Agree to disagree, HIS-Story agreed upon.
