What's This All About?
Welcome to the website devoted to addressing the claims of the ancient astronaut hypothesis popularized in the writings of Zecharia Sitchin. Who's behind this site? My name is Mike Heiser. Who am I? The short answer is that I'm a scholar of biblical and ancient Near Eastern languages, cultures, and religions. Why do I bother with this stuff? Because I don't like ancient texts manipulated to promote false claims. If I were a lawyer I'd feel professionally obligated to tell you if someone was giving you bad legal advice. If I was a medical doctor, I'd owe you the truth if I knew the medicine you were taking was bogus or could kill you. If I was an accountant, I'd let you know if a neighbor's tax advice could put you in jail. I'm none of those things, but I'm trying to provide the same service in my areas of expertise. I can tell you--and show you--that what Sitchin has written about Nibiru, the Anunnaki, the book of Genesis, the Nephilim, and a host of other things has absolutely no basis in the real data of the ancient world. I don't doubt that Zecharia Sitchin is a nice guy; he's just wrong. Nothing personal.

I took a little risk
Oh I miss Warren Zevon. And it isn't what you think -- I never really got him until tonight. I don't consider myself late to any party, but his genius isn't exactly the easiest thing to get. Bring Lawyers, Guns and Money is my favorite. But I'm listening to his whole catalog of songs and it just gets better the more I dig. I remember back that the only thing I ever got about Warren was his incredible relationship with David Letterman. Still, I didn't get the music so I ignored it. Back then as a kid I just shuffled it together with 60's style music electrified for the 80s/90s. When I heard G.G. Allen sing this, I realized wow, this might be a good song to pass along...

Witness: "At least three people" In Theater 9
The #ColoradoShootings is quite a weird story. I don't trust when a government official gives me an "official story" when witnesses are giving a breed of testimony that completely shreds it apart at the seams.
But folks, what is the motivation to not tell the world what has really happened?
Fool me once, Columbine.
Fool me twice, Arizona.
Fool me thrice, Batman.
I don't know if they are getting worse, but there is an interconnectedness to these stories. Perhaps some kick-ass researcher has been able to visualize this and create a video (set to some form of music...) we'll see. Anyway, here's a video you won't easily forget.
