Literary Pop - Burroughs and UFOs
William S Burroughs' Naked Lunch made an impact on me. As with the zillions of other Naked Lunch fans who might agree, the words remain stimulating, and yet the message was confusing for a young man to grasp, but so much creative energy flowed through the pages. The imprints were made and left in my brain to digest over time.
Interestingly, the book that was printed in 1959 was edited and in 1962 was reprinted with the originally redacted UFO/ET themes. An article discusses the UFO/Naked Lunch connectivity as the book celebrates its 50th anniversary, which makes the book the same age as my sister. Can't wait to remind her.
The article finishes with Burroughs,“Nature has a way of biting back, and teaching us lessons. Why should we not look for answers about alien life? It’s fear of finding out that’s kept this from being the story of the century.”
