THE UFO THEY SAY EXISTS — AND NOW THE PENTAGON SAYS IT’S LOOKING FOR IT

The fastest-growing UAP story of the last 24 hours is not a released UFO video.
It is an unreleased one.
A New York Post report says two classified cellphone videos allegedly show a roughly 100-foot black triangular object maneuvering near a Colorado military installation in 2023. According to sources cited by the paper, the recordings are held by the Air Force Office of Special Investigations and remain unavailable to the public. The same report quotes former Air Force personnel and whistleblowers arguing that recent disclosure measures have not actually removed the classification barriers keeping potentially important evidence out of public view. �

That story caught fire on r/UFOs, where discussion quickly split into the familiar camps: extraterrestrial technology, secret American aerospace hardware, insufficient evidence, or another tantalizing claim whose best evidence always seems to be located somewhere civilians cannot go. �

Then something materially changed.
Department of War Assistant Press Secretary Joel Valdez publicly responded that the department is looking into the report and said that if officials uncover relevant material, it will be released through the government’s PURSUE UFO archive. �

That makes this more interesting than another viral flying-triangle story.
The Pentagon has already released its fifth PURSUE tranche, containing 41 records from agencies including the Pentagon, FBI, CIA, State Department and Executive Office of the President. Recent mainstream coverage has pushed those files well outside traditional UFO media; an NBC News YouTube report on the latest release had already accumulated more than 200,000 views when indexed. �

AARO, meanwhile, continues to describe its mission as scientifically identifying and attributing UAP and does not claim that unresolved reports constitute evidence of extraterrestrial technology. �

That distinction matters.
Verified: an allegation about classified Colorado footage exists, the government has publicly acknowledged the report, and officials say they are investigating whether releasable material can be found. �

Not verified: that the object was extraterrestrial, demonstrated impossible performance, camouflaged itself inside clouds, or even that the videos ultimately show something anomalous. Those remain claims attributed to sources who say they know the footage. �

FMPU OPINION
Here is where disclosure becomes Magic Pop.
The evidence is classified, but the mythology is already public.
Before anybody sees frame one, Reddit produces eyewitnesses, YouTube produces thumbnails, X produces certainty, skeptics produce experimental aircraft, believers produce non-human intelligence, and the algorithm quietly sells refreshments.
This may be the defining UFO/UAP problem of modern disclosure: the story now travels faster than the evidence.
So release the tape.
If it is revolutionary, let revolution survive scrutiny.
If it is a classified American aircraft, perhaps we finally learn why the triangle mythology refuses to die.
If it is nothing, wonderful.
Nothing is occasionally one of the healthiest things a UFO investigation can discover.
Until then, FMPU will resist turning an unavailable video into a spaceship merely because the Internet has already begun selling tickets.

Information about Gary McKinnon's UFO findings

FMPU has followed the Gary McKinnon case since it first broke. The Scottish pothead computer hacker claims to have viewed government information that was classified. Several rumors abound as in the linked blog post claims to have all the "inside scoop" -- which is, in fact, inside poop. The most revealing part of the article is that Gary used a dial-up modem to perform the hacks into the NASA’s Johnson’s space center website, where he collected/viewed sensitive data - but he was unable to perform saves on the most critical information (pictures of cigar shaped UFOs).  Drats. The rest seems like speculation, though over there at the Open Minds article it reads a bit differently.  As if you have time right?
