It's eye-catching when an article is printed in any of the big papers on the topic of UFOs. In the many years of newspaper reading, only a handful of articles could be found and these usually arrive after a major event that becomes popularized, such as The Phoenix Lights and Roswell. Much fewer of the in-betweeners, as I call them, that explore the culture in any depth below the faint tint of laughter.
The article is about Judy Messoline and her UFO Watchtower in Hooper, CO. Was on a roadtrip just two short years ago and completely had no idea about this place or we would have fallen another day behind to make a stop here.
Anyway, the article has some unknown purpose -- if it's to save Judy by sending her, possibly, some new UFOnuts looking for a new place to throw a party, then yes, I have a generally positive feeling this article does not hurt. Makes me want to hit the road, again, in fact I might do this at some point in 2011. For other reasons though, the information is a little desperate and pathetic, but at least the tone is about right. If the place is a so-called "hotspot" for UFO activity, it's news to me.
