NASA is the inconvenient recipient of Jared Loughner's message

As the events continue to be exposed by the mainstream media, a brokenhearted nation looks to find an answer to why Jared Loughner committed such a heinous act. Until now you have been following the repetitive reports.  We are seeing the same spooky photo issued by Pima County Police everywhere. We are all feeling the deep emotions shared by the witnesses and victims.  It is a moving case, a human tragedy not to be taken lightly.  I'm always the first one out with a quick joke in the face of tragedy, but Jared was sick of things being taken too lightly and no jokes I could tell would sail over anyone's head and would be done in poor taste considering the climate.  Now I won't deny trying.  It just hasn't worked itself out yet.  In Jared's mind comes a product that is unique, and in this concept comes my thinking that this is the frailty of his grim outlook.  When broken down, maybe there's not be a whole lot that means much of anything at all, but I think and feel that this is not the case all the time. 90 percent of the round of golf I played this morning didn't mean shit.  The 9-hole round was unmemorable, except for maybe that birdie I nailed on the 9th hole. It's always a nice way to walk off with at least one on the scorecard.   I also played with an old friend I had not seen in about 7 years, and that did mean something.  No he's not more likable, interesting, intelligent, or aware than he ever was before, but we do get along great and it left me feeling good when we parted and headed off in our opposite directions.

Little did I know how digitally close I had been to the guy who killed six and injured 14 others as a frequenter of a conspiracy chat site. I've been a member of Above Top Secret for five or six years, mainly to check out what's new in the world of questioning everything.

Monday when I logged on to the site, I came across this wild introduction at the site's homepage:

We here at AboveTopSecret.com, our owners, staff, and membership find ourselves in the unfortunate position of apparently being one of the largest (if not the largest) repositories of online postings by someone who has been classified as a “monster” (among other things) due to his (accused) actions of two days ago. Online research that began on Reddit, and continued here on ATS has resulted in an overwhelming amount of anecdotal evidence to support the notion that the “erad3″ member account here is Jared Loughner. Indeed, the content found in more than 4,000 Google search returns (including some pages in the mainstream press) have drawn the same conclusion.

This is a rather unique situation, to say the least. I and our staff have been considering if we should provide a public statement, and if we do, what should we say? Especially since we’re already being contacted by the media for comment and more information.

The postings of “erad3″ reveal someone who clearly has many questions for which answers have been elusive if not outright impossible to obtain. And despite the best efforts by many of our members, it seemed there were no answers to be found here for which he was satisfied.

As is often typical, recent analysis in the media is rampant with all manner of conclusions, second-guesses, exaggerations, distortions, and missing information. The opinion of the staff and owners of AboveTopSecret is that it serves the public interest to provide an easy method to access every post made here by erad3 (normally, visitors must be logged-in to view such information).

In the past I had read several of Jared's posts and remember them quite clearly. They are strange and many of the questions he would ask were difficult or impossible to answer and it pissed off a lot of the readers.  But if you look at the subject matter, you find something interesting.  A serious disbelief in the NASA program's claims.  The use of logic, in his case, incited an interesting collections of rejection.  Much like his many rejections in life from women, potential employers and teachers, this rejection was probably taken while he was high on drugs.  Speculation here, but if he was taking drugs while in an already inhibited circumstance at such a difficult stage of life brought him to some off-the-wall conclusions he posted on sites such as ATS, but the others on the sites were not about to have any of it.  The conclusions are still posted on ATS so I'm not going to copy and paste them, but I'll toss in a few if/then statements that summarize my point, and examine some of Jared's (user erad3 on ATS) possible motives for his sick attack.

Tonight's Coast 2 Coast AM show even has the co-owner of ATS discussing media reactions to Jared's posts on the site.  He not adding any conjecture, in fact its more like typical damage control to explain why guys like Jared aren't about to get therapy offered from the site administrators.

If Jared believes temperatures are too cold in space to support human life, astronauts would die in space.
If NASA never waivers on the facts they administer about their space program and NASA is a government agency and Government agencies have supplied misinformation in the past, then it is possible NASA has withheld information from the public or supplied misinformation to the public in the past.

Ok, that did not go well.  I hope that doesn't land me on any strange lists.

How about this...  If Jared shoots Gibbons in the head with a Glock, then her husband will be very concerned and uncertain about why this happened.

If Mark Kelly is an astronaut in the NASA program, he knows for sure if Jared's claims are true or false in regards to the NASA program.

Mark Kelly is an astronaut in the NASA program.

If Jared shoots Gibbons, NASA is interested in knowing what Jared wrote on conspiracy sites.

NASA addresses the shooting by taking a moment of silence to reflect on the shootings.

It may not sound like much, but it would be interesting if indeed NASA was an indirect target in the assassination attempt on Gibbons.  A shameful, sad act from a man who suffers delusions and is paranoid, but that is the world we live in.  If words don't mean anything to him, the punishment that is forthcoming will add yet another dimension to his problems.

Any thoughts?

Update:  While I did originally make this post off the top of my head, I realize this idea was probably already stated on other sites.  So today I went out to find out if this is the case and as per usual, the internets did not let me down.  WireUpdate did a piece on this topic already!
The article includes:
"On Above Top Secret he predominantly wrote about whether or not NASA faked its Mars rover missions and the entire Space Shuttle program leading some to speculate if Loughner targeted Congresswoman Gabriel Giffords based on her connection to NASA. Gifford’s husband and brother-in-law are both astronauts for the Space Shuttle program."

Copy Cat Effect has another similar article that states "On 1.11.11, Commander Scott Kelly, Gabrielle Giffords' brother-in-law, led a moment of silence through NASA at the International Space Station. "The crew of ISS Expedition 26 and the flight control centers around the world would like to observe a moment of silence in honor of all the victims, which include my sister-in-law Gabrielle Giffords, a caring and dedicated public servant," said Commander Kelly. Kelly is in charge of a six-person team at the ISS."   This blog submission also includes an interesting parallel between the event in Tuscan and the Space Odyssey movies.  Worth the read.

Since I've received a couple emails wondering what comments "erad3" made on the ATS site.  I've included a few of those comments below...

"Was one of your favorite toys a plastic NASA Space Shuttle?"

"If the design of the NASA Space Shuttle keeps the black body temperature of −454 °F from the outside orbit then the NASA Space Shuttle is at a temperature for human life.
The NASA Space Shuttle isn’t at a temperature for human life.
Hence, the design of the NASA Space Shuttle doesn’t keep the black body temperature of −454 °F from the outside orbit."

"If the air supply supports the NASA Space Shuttle mission for the time in orbit then the crew is able to breathe with the correct amount of oxygen for the time in orbit.
The crew is not able to breathe with the correct amount of oxygen for the time in orbit.
Consequently, the air supply doesn’t support the NASA Space Shuttle mission for the time in orbit."
