We know the debate, so I skipped part I. You know -- mothers against Ozzy, or masturbation or sex of any kind in rock lyrics. And we should know that Zappa was somehow put the most vocal for the WTF are you talking about side? side of the argument. For what it's worth, music continued it's slide into depravity and filth, to some extent, but by the time it really would have had a detrimental impact, it lost it's listening audience because the music is so fucking awful. In other words, I hear songs all day about fist-pumping bizzaches, smokin blunts, booty shaking, whatever... depending on the station you go to... and it's probably the only popular music alive out there. But that all gets old. It's lost it's penchant for gasps, and what's left is ripoffs, and shitty music made by lunatics who go to jail because they suck at life. The real music is out there, most likely put online by people with day-jobs and who couldn't make a dollar by airing the damn stuff. There's no money there. And so the controversy may seem dead, but it's very much alive because of the connectivity to money and shitty produced garbage that doesn't evoke any emotion the way it did back then. Whew. OK -- we've split way too far from the modus operandi of the blog. Here's part II of the debate, but really, since Zappa is dead (and with our luck that woman is still milling about shooting off absurdities) it is most likely the case that they both lost this debate.
